Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 12, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what data MikroBI DevKit ("the Site", available at mikrobi.hu) processes when you use it, and how cookies and similar technologies — including those used by Google Analytics and Google AdSense — are used on the Site.

Who operates this Site

MikroBI DevKit is operated by MikroBI. If you have any question about this Privacy Policy or about how your data is handled, you can reach the operator at support@mikrobi.hu.

Data processed by the tools themselves

MikroBI DevKit is built as a client-side, offline-first toolbox: every tool (hash generators, the JSON formatter, the Base64 encoder, and the rest) runs entirely inside your browser using the Web Crypto API and other native browser features. Text or files you paste into a tool are never uploaded to a server and are not visible to the operator — they exist only in your browser's memory for as long as the tab stays open. The app does store a small amount of technical data locally in your browser, using the localStorage API, so the app behaves consistently between visits: your light/dark theme preference (key "mikrobi-theme") and a short list of the tools you used most recently (key "mikrobi-recent-tools"), identified only by an internal tool id. This data stays on your device, is never transmitted anywhere, and can be erased at any time by clearing your browser's site data.

Cookies, Google Analytics and Google AdSense

MikroBI DevKit is a free service supported by advertising, and uses Google Analytics to understand how the Site is used. Neither Google Analytics nor Google AdSense is loaded, and no related cookie is set, until you accept cookies in the consent banner shown on your first visit; if you reject or dismiss it, only strictly necessary local storage (see above) is used. You can change your choice at any time via the "Cookie Settings" link in the footer. Once accepted, Google Analytics sets cookies to distinguish visitors and measure usage (such as which tools are popular), and Google AdSense may set and read cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) to display ads and measure their performance. Google and its advertising partners may use these cookies, together with information about your visits to this and other sites, to serve ads that are more relevant to you. These third-party scripts are only requested while your device is online, and are not loaded at all if the corresponding Google service has not been configured on the Site. You can learn more about how Google uses this data at https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads and https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and you can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings at https://adssettings.google.com or the industry opt-out page at https://www.aboutads.info/choices.

Other third-party services

Some tools (for example the IP leak test, the IP lookup and the DNS-over-HTTPS lookup) work by sending a request directly from your browser to a third-party network service you explicitly asked for a result from (such as a DoH resolver). The IP lookup, for instance, sends the IP address being looked up (your own, or one you entered) to freeipapi.com, and to ipwho.is as a fallback if the first service is unavailable. Those requests are subject to the privacy policy of the corresponding third-party service, not of MikroBI DevKit.

Your rights

Because almost all processing happens locally in your own browser, MikroBI DevKit itself holds very little data about you. Where applicable data protection law (such as the EU GDPR) gives you rights over data processed on Google's side for ad delivery, those rights are exercised directly with Google via the links above. For anything processed by the operator (such as an email you send to support@mikrobi.hu), you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of that data by contacting the same address.

Changes to this policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time, for example to reflect changes in the tools offered or in applicable law. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when it was last revised.
